Shopping at the Woodland Mall this weekend?




I recently took a trip to the Woodland mall and found out that there are some freebies to be had there. I was surprised so I thought I'd pass on the knowledge. So if you plan on shopping there this weekend you can catch the freebie action too.

1. Free jewelry cleaning - Check out the jewelry stores
You can usually leave the jewelry and keep shopping than swing back around for your sparkly stuff.

2. Free kiddie area - On the west side of the mall (I think that's right)
Let the hubby sit with the kiddies for a while and you can keep shopping. A free indoor playground.

3. Entertaining & Cocktails class - At Williams Sonoma
This class is FREE and is held on the 8th & 9th from 10-11am. You should call ahead to register. 956-2297

4. A free spa getaway - At Origins
This may take awhile because they offer a lot of free stuff. You'll be surprised.

>Facials - This usually comes with a face massage
>Head and arm massage
>Make up application
>Gift wrapping

And to end your holiday shopping experience at the mall stop in at Wetzel's Pretzels for a unique frozen apple cider treat. This isn't free but you can splurge $2.64 on yourself for a small indulgence.

Christmas Season Fun!

Here's a list of free stuff that's happening this season that you and the family are sure to enjoy:

1. East Hills Holiday Hop / On Cherry st. & Wealthy St. / Thursday, Dec. 6 - From 4-10pm
The local shops will be having special promotions so you can get good deals on great gifts. You can ride the trolley to get there and snag some yummy holiday treats while you're there. You'll probably catch some carolers as well. Everyone will have a chance to win some prizes also! It's a great area to to enjoy a little fun and shopping.

2. Urban Lights / On S. Division between Fulton and Cherry st. / Friday, Dec. 7 - From 6-11pm
The newly renovated area is hosting its annual Urban Lights event complete with store specials, art shows and even a craft time at Space Craft. For the artsy person this is a win!

3. Christmas Parade / On main st. in downtown Coopersville / Friday, Dec. 7 - From 5-8pm
Park at the High school and take the family for a ride on the train to get to main st.! Once you're there you can get some free hot chocolate and fresh roasted chestnuts from 6-8pm. In the Farm Museum you can see a gingerbread house and Christmas tree display. The Historical Society Museum has a fun way to see the displays - by Christmas lights and lanterns. The parade starts at 7pm and afterward you can get your picture taken with Santa at the Junior High gym. While you wait you can snack on some more free cookies and hot chocolate. This is a great event for any family.

4. Dough ornament making / EGR KD library / Saturday, Dec. 8 - 10am
This is an arts and crafts workshop for kids.

5. Music for the Holidays / Aquinas College Performing Arts Center / Sunday, Dec. 9 - 4pm
A special evening of holiday music featuring the Aquinas College Music Department.

6. Songs for the Holidays / 1st UMC on E. Fulton / Sunday, Dec. 9 - 3pm
A holiday concert presented by the GRCC Choral Ensembles.

7. Holiday Card Workshop / Wyoming KDL / Monday, Dec. 10 - 6:15pm
This is a workshop for teens 11-18 and registration is required.

8. Rooftop Landing Reindeers / Walker KDL / Wednesday, Dec. 12 - 3pm
All ages will be able to pet reindeer, enjoy refreshments and create a make-and-take craft.

9. Homestead Holiday / Blandford Nature Center / Saturday, Dec. 15 - 5-8pm
Enjoy a wagon ride, hot chocolate, carolers, and a craft at the nature center.

10. Embellish / Schulers on Alpine / Tuesday, Dec. 18 - 6pm
Embellish, a community handbell ensemble, promotes the art of handbell ringing by providing a high-quality musical experience.
