Free Independent film viewings

As Grand Rapids residents, we are lucky to have a local institute like the UICA. They do so much for the community in general and now they even tugging at the heart strings of a local tightwad. Through another local newsletter about happenings in GR I've found out that they are showing many free movies that are open to the public. Here's a list of what's coming up for the Chiaroscuro Film Series:

ps - sorry to anyone who tried the baskin robbins deal - you should have seen the look on the girls face when I asked about; priceless confusion.

Rumors of FREE Baskin Robins ice cream

It's very late right now so I can't call to check this out and I wanted to put it on the blog right away so go at your own risk. It seems that if you have a gym membership somewhere Baskin Robbins will give you FREE ice cream tomorrow from 11am until 10pm. The location I know of here in town is on Plainfield by Hunsberger Ave. where Northview High school is located. I don't know how big the ice cream will be or why they're offering this to gym members but I don't think I'll be passing up the free ice cream.

FREE Starbucks tea sampling today!

Today after 2pm you can stop by Starbucks to get a sampling of their tea drinks. I'm not positive which ones they will be offering. I called two local stores and the employees didn't seem completely sure. If you stop by the Alpine location, however, you might be in for a special treat. The employee there believes they'll be handing out cards for a free drink later on. But I would bank on it just to be safe. But if you find yourself near a Starbucks store today after 2pm, pop in and grab a free drink!

FREE Godiva Chocolate sampling!

For all you chocolate lovers...this one's for you! Godiva Boutique in the Rivertown Crossings mall and the Woodland mall are both having a chocolate sampling coming up so mark your calendars. Here's the details:

1/30 - 2/1

Mousse: A light milk chocolate mousse filling covered in a dark chocolate shell

Light strawberry mousse covered in a dark chocolate shell

Hazelnut and milk chocolate blended together into a light mousse, in milk chocolate

2/6 - 2/8

Mousse AGAIN!
