Going on Vacation

FREE Concert at Schuler's

The downtown location of Schuler's will be hosting a FREE concert on July 31st at 6:30pm. Chris Smit and the New Midwest will be playing.

FREE Movie at Celadon

Celadon New Town is showing another FREE movie on July 31st at 9:30pm in their amphitheater. They'll be showing the family friendly movie Babe. Don't forget to bring your own snacks and chairs.

Collins Park Movie

It's time again for another FREE movie at John Collins Park in East Grand Rapids. It's happening on July 31st at 8:50pm and they'll be showing Nim's Island. Don't forget to bring your own snacks and chairs.

Schuler's Seminar

On July 30th you can catch the seminar Women, Money and Power at the downtown Schuler's located on Fountain street. This is a FREE seminar and starts at 5:30pm.

Electronic Music Festival

Rob Bliss events are so well known in GR now it seems silly to blog about them. But just in case you haven't heard about the latest event here goes...

There will be an electronic music festival on August 1st from 7pm until midnight. It is set to take place downtown and is a FREE event as far as I can tell. So mark your calendars!

Reading for Rides

Stop by one of the many Kent District Libraries and pick up your Reading for Rides card. This card is your ticket to FREE rides at the Kent County Youth Fair on August 11th from noon until 2pm. Each child must read three books in order to receive the FREE rides. Have fun and try not to get too sick!

FREE Fandango Movie Ticket

World Market has another great deal going on. I missed the FREE bag this week but I'm heading out to get my FREE Fandango movie ticket. I called the store on 28th st. and the lady said that you can make any purchase you like and on your receipt you'll get instructions how to get that ticket via e-mail. I asked her if there was a minimum purchase amount and she said no! So this could be a sweet deal! World Market on 28th st. is located just west of the woodland mall and in the same strip mall as Guitar Center. This is for today only so hurry on out there!

It's that special day of the week when you can get something FREE at Arby's. Today's sweet deal is get a FREE fruitea when you purchase any sandwich. No coupon needed just ask for the deal.

30% Off School Shopping

Right now you can head to the Gap, Banana Republic or Old Navy and use this 30% off coupon on almost anything in the store. Actually the coupon is good for 4 days and it starts on the 30th. But that's just a day away! I read the fine print and didn't see anything about not being able to use the coupon on sale items. So it looks like you could it the clearance racks and get some great deals! Happy shopping!

FREE Produce for Those in Need

The Heartside Garden is overflowing and they are declaring a season of jubilee. This Thursday you can head over to the garden and get some FREE produce. It sounds like they have an abundance of zucchini! Click here to see a map of where the gardens are located. I would love to tell you a time but I didn't get that information.

FREE Dr. Seuss Activity Book

Energy Star is offering a FREE Dr. Seuss activity book. I believe that it is designed to engage kids in the idea of saving energy. Click here and scroll down to the bottom. You can get up to 10! So if you have a group of kids coming over soon or you want to give them to a bunch of kids at school you can do that.

FREE Prints at Snapfish

Free stuff times is a blog that I subscribe to and they sent me this great post about getting 50 FREE prints from snapfish.com. They give you a code from mycokerewards.com and I believe you should be able to enter it when you're checking out. I'm saving it for my vacation pictures. Short Films and Discussion

The UICA is putting on this fantastic event that I have yet to make it to. On the 28th at 6pm they will be showing three short films - Drifters, Friction and One Hour in Phoenix. There will be a presentation from the sierra club. This entire evening is FREE and will end at 7pm.

Here's the latest in the Meanwhile Film series. The Fly will be showing on the 28th at 8pm over in Eastown at the Wealthy Theatre. It costs $5 to get in. Don't think I'm too crazy but I love Jeff Goldblum.

FREE Ice Cream!

I haven't been to an ice cream social in a long time and I must say that I truly miss them. Of course, I love ice cream so it makes sense that a get together designed around one of my favorite foods would be very missed. Creative Cooking Class

I've heard that some teens really like to cook. I have yet to meet one of them. But if you know a teenager who likes to cook or is just interested in it than you might want to have them check out the creative cooking class at the Kentwood KDL on the 28th at 6:15pm. It's free and I'd imagine that you'd get to taste some food too!

Duct Tape Demonstration

Red Green swears by it and now teens can learn new ways to look at duct tape. The East Grand Rapids KDL is having a duct tape demonstration on the 28th at 3pm. They always have so many teen events that I want to go to. People say I look young so maybe I should try and sneak in. It says that registration is required but it also says that there are still openings. I would call ahead to see.
