Learn Something New

I'm a DIY-aholic and I love to learn how to do new things. And being a tightwad I'd rather do a job myself than pay to have it done. This usually saves me a ton of money. But wanting to "do-it-yourself" and knowing how to "do-it-yourself" are two different things. So I've found some different websites that I tend to reference when I'm in need of some help or just wanting to learn something new. If you'd like to test your DIY abilities then just check out the list below to see what new skill you can achieve.

instructables.com

It's also a good idea to google "how to (fill in the blank)" to find a ton of websites to help. Youtube is also a great place to find videos to help. I once had a friend find me a youtube video that showed me how to change the oil in my moped. You never know what you're going to find. My favorite memory of doing things this way was when I bought a new toilet and decided to do the whole exchange myself. As I was getting started in the bathroom I had my laptop on the bathroom counter with a video on pause and my husband walked in got the funniest look on his face. He looked at me, then at the computer and just walked out very confused. He's not a DIY-er. It took him a good week to believe that the toilet was properly installed and safe to use. So this little project could be your next funny memory.
