Home Hospice Documentary at GRPL

The Grand Rapids Public Library has this event posted on their website so I just copied the details and pasted it here for you. This one might not be for everyone.

Hospice of Michigan has produced an excellent documentary “Except for Six” which follows three people on that journey. A majority of the documentary was filmed in West Michigan and has been getting notice from filmmakers such as Ken Burns. You may have heard about it last fall when it premiered at Celebration Cinema. Perhaps you’re like me — I wanted to go see it but I hesitated. Was I ready to watch a film about people making those end of life decisions?
Who is this film for? Those of us who are caregivers for the elderly or those with life-threatening illnesses struggling with these end of life issues. Those of us who question how we will face the end of our own lives. Those of us who want to be inspired as we are privileged to share the journey with people brave enough to allow us in. We are the ones who will benefit from their courageous odyssey with death.
Please join us Wednesday evening, March 11, starting at 6:30 pm, in the Main Library Auditorium or Tuesday afternoon, March 24, starting at 2:00 pm, in the Yankee Clipper Branch Auditorium for a showing of this film. There will be a time for discussion and questions following each film.
