The YMCA Offers Child Health Insurance

I'm still not sure what to think about this one. Here's a copy of the e-mail I got on this..."YMCA Offers New Children's Health Insurance ProgramWe can help! The YMCA has been selected to enroll 10,000 young people under the age of 19 over the next two years to participate in the Children's Health Insurance program."The best part is, depending on the program you are accepted for, it can cost as little as $10 per month, or it could be free. This targets the thousands of families who work part-time jobs or who have been laid off. They will not be eligible for low-cost insurance for their children," said Deborah MacDonald, YMCA Children's Health Insurance Program Director. The registered children can receive optical, dental, and health care coverage from any one of the major medical plan providers. Blue Cross Blue Shield, Priority Health, and Grand Valley Health are all participating in the Children's Health Insurance program. To submit an application, you can call (616) 855-9686 and schedule an appointment to come into our offices at 475 Lake Michigan Dr. NW, Grand Rapids 49504. Or email the staff at chidrenshealth@grymca.org.A family of four may qualify for the program if their average household income is $3,675 a month ($44,100 annually) or under. Typically, if a family qualifies for free or reduced school lunch, they will qualify for this program."

I'm not in need of this at all but it peaked my curiosity so I thought I'd pass it along.
