A little bit of jazz...a little bit of art

One of my favorite dates with my husband is when we go to the Grand Rapids Art Museum on Friday nights. This is a great night to check it out because it costs $5 to get in but you get not only the art but some great jazz or modern music. Here's how they put it in the magazine, On the Town - "Every Friday night, enjoy a casual evening of art, music, food, and drinks. Enjoy a relaxing immersion in the arts with galleries open all night, promotions in the museum store, gourmet buffet dinner in the cafe ($10), a cash bar, and jazz and modern music playing from the balcony. Also, the Art Forum features a rotation of guest speakers, gallery talks, demonstrations, and more with a solo piano winding down the evening. Jazz and Modern music, 5-7pm; Art Forum, 7-7:45pm. "
So if you need something cheaper than the movies on a Friday night date or would just like a little sophistication in your life check out the upcoming schedule - March 21st: Bill Sears Trio, with architect Yo Hakomori speaking. March 28: Fred Knapp Trio, with artist and professor Sharon Sandberg speaking.
And if you'd like to find a way to see the museum for free, check out my earliest blogs to see a write up on how to make it happen. Have a great weekend!
