Getting Ready!

It's almost here! That lovely day when the paper flies and things get shredded and people squeal with glee or give you the look you've been dreading.
This may sound a little crazy but on that special day it's a great opportunity to save money for next year. A lot of people love to go shopping after Christmas to get discounts on holiday stuff for next year and that's one way to go. But for the ultimate tightwad I have a few different suggestions.

1. Don't let the shredding happen. Paper is one thing but when the family starts shredding boxes and bags it's time to exercise a little restraint. The boxes and bags can be saved for next year. And if you head to an extended family get together you can collect all of theirs as well. Just start picking up and people will just think you're really helpful.
2. Bows can be reused as well so don't get rid of them. Use tape next year or even ribbon can be looped through it to hold it down.
3. I know tissue paper can be cheap by why keep wasting the change when you can just refold your own and keep it for next year.

*Here's a tip for all these suggestions - Head to those coveted after Christmas sales and pick up big boxes and bins to hold all your recycling gift wrap. Organize it by bags, boxes, tissue paper and accessories. This will help you a lot next year.

4. You can also use those old Christmas cards as name tags or pretty covers for gifts next year. 5. Use those picture cards to regift next year. Buy a picture frame ornament and cut out the picture and plop it in there. Voila! A gift for next year.

And for those that are gearing up for big sales...here's a couple that you might want to check out
1. Bath and Body works semi-annual sale is going to start on Dec. 29th
2. Victoria's Secret is also going to be having there semi-annual sale.

*These two stores are owned by the same company. If you go to Victoria's Secret I would suggest signing up for their store credit card. You'll get a 6month coupon book, special promotion coupons and a $10 gift card on your birthday. Any time you shop there or at Bath and Body Works use your card and you'll start getting points. Once you reach 250 points you'll get a $25 gift card. It'll take me awhile to spend that much there but once I do I'll enjoy the gift card.
