Inauguration FREEBIES!

This is very last minute so if you catch any of these specials, congratulations!

The Gerald R. Ford Museum is open to the public for FREE today until 7pm. They will also be showing the inaugaration today at 12pm. So even if you miss the historic event you can still check out the museum after work or school.

- The Grand Rapids Public Library (Ryerson Auditorium, Level 3 ) invites its patrons and neighbors to watch live television coverage of the presidential inauguration on a large screen. Stay for just a few minutes, or for the entire day. We will have video cameras and recorders for you to share your thoughts on the historical event. Select entries will be posted to our website. Light refreshments will be available.

Presidential Inauguration - Live Simulcast
-Experience the Presidental Inauguration live on the big screen, at Wealthy Theatre, free of charge! This community event is sponsored by Progressive Women's Alliance, the Men's Alliance for Progress, and Community Media Center. Doors open at 11AM with media coverage of the noon inauguration event and with full coverage of the actual Inauguration. Seats will be available on a first-come basis, and the Koning Micro-Cinema will be available on demand.
If you'd like to witness the Inauguration of President-Elect Obama but cannot make it to Washington, D.C., this is your chance to share the experience with others, in a comfortable and regal setting, at Wealthy Theatre.
In honor of the Inauguration, CMC will be accepting donations of canned goods/non-perishable items for local food banks.

Presidential Inauguration Event for Everyone
-A rebroadcast of the inaugration will be shown at Celebration Cinema North at 7:00 pm, 8:00 pm and 9:00 pm for those unable to watch during the day. There will also be live music throughout the evening until 10.p.m with guest speakers and musicians from Lansing, Ann Arbor, Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids.

ADMISSION: FREE / Donations accepted by Student Advancement Foundation and Close Up (Washington DC Educational Programs)The event is FREE and open to all ages and all ideologies. A non partisan acknowledgment of the historic significance of the day as well as a expression of support for each other and our new president as together we face a number of challenges in the coming months.
Donations will be accepted to offset the costs for the earlier live broadcast at the Celebration Cinema of the Presidential Inauguration to over 1,135 Grand Rapids Public high school students, in an effort to raise awareness of the democratic process and opportunities for students to apply for scholarships to visit Washington D.C and observe the process up close. Donations can be made to the Grand Rapids Close-Up Washington Program and GRPS Student Advancement Foundation.
