Reading Clubs for Kids This Summer

With lots of time on their hands kids have the opportunity to spark their imagination, get creative and possibly get some FREE stuff. Here's some reading clubs or programs that are available for kids this summer:

1. Barnes & Noble FREE book
-Available to kids grades 1-6
-Must read 8 books of their own choosing
-Describe their favorite part of the book in this Summer Reading Journal
-Have a parent sign the journal when the 8 books are read
-Bring the completed journal into a store between May 26th & September 7th
-You will then get a coupon for a FREE book (select titles only)

2. Grand Rapids Public Library Teen program
-For every 4 books you read or listen to you will be entered into a drawing to win prizes from schuler's, best buy or even celebration cinema

3. Kent District Library Be Creative & Express Yourself Programs
-Be Creative is for the younger kids & Express Yourself is for the teens
-It starts June 8th and goes until August 15th
-You can win prizes for reading

A great resource for finding more is Big Binder and her list of summer programs. She also has a great post about riding the Rapid for FREE if you're going to the library. Check it out here.

Thanks! If you come visit be sure to look at the comments too - some of my readers had additional programs - so many programs around town, it's fantastic!
