You're probably wondering what in the world I'm talking about. Let me explain. There is an alpaca farm out in Grandville that have about 12 of these funny animals and April 22nd is the day they will be shearing them. There is apparently one person who does shearing for about 150 farms in 90 days so each farm gets assigned a day and it is quite an experience I'm told. They shear these animals because as the weather gets warmer they need to so they won't suffer from heat exhaustion. So from 9:30am until about 1pm these fluffy animals will be getting a hair cut of sorts. You can also find out how the alpacas hair cut can produce yarn! I'm fully intrigued by the whole adventure and hope you get a chance to check out this free event.
