The Grand Rapids Public Museum has a special exhibition going on through May 15th. But it's not at their Pearl st. location. It's actually at the old building at 54 Jefferson. I've heard that it's a great exhibit but haven't got to go yet myself. Here's some details for you:
Brown Bag Lunch Series
Thursdays through May 13 *12-2pm *Free will donation
-Bring a sack lunch and join the guided tour through the exhibit with one of the featured artists. You can also go on a behind-the-scenes tour with a curator to see the museums vast collections which are stored in a next door building.
Exhibit Hours
Thursdays through May 13 *2-8pm *Free will donation
Open House and Fashion Show
May 6 *7-11pm *$5 entrance fee
-A whimsical fashion show will take place with creations that have been inspired by the exhibit.
Community Open House
May 15 *12-5pm *Free will donation
-This will be open to the public and your last chance to walk through the art installation. You can also get the behind-the-scenes tour during this time.
The Land of Riches exhibit includes work from seven schools and includes ceramics, painting, photography, creative writing and more. It occupies two floors of the building and has a variety of art to capture your attention.
