Discover! Pickeral Lake On Saturday!

I recently got an email that shared this event with me. It's so much easier if I just give your their description. They know how to write pretty...so here you go:

Discover! Pickerel Lake

Join us this Saturday, May 15 for a free and fun discovery program at
Pickerel Lake/Fred Meijer Nature Preserve! Just pull on your
comfortable shoes or hiking boots, gather the family and make your way
to one of Kent County Park's hidden gems!

This experiential family event for kids of ALL ages runs from 10:00 AM
to 3:00 PM. It includes hands-on activities, inspiring information, a
trail guide and a scavenger hunt with a drawing for a free "Discover!
Pickerel Lake" t-shirt!

There will be a series of narrated stations where participants will be
able to explore and enjoy nature while learning about the truly unique
ecosystem and natural resources that surround Pickerel Lake.

Come learn about:
*The birds and beavers that make their home Pickerel Lake *The diverse
native and non-native trees around the lake *The tamarack swamp and the
turtle dock *The wildflowers and native plants *The history and lore of
the area, including stories of 'Indian Joe'
*Local reptiles and amphibians on display!

Discover! Pickerel Lake event is a partnership between the Kent County
MSU Extension office and its Master Naturalist program and the Kent
County Parks Department
. This events qualifies as a WildCard stamp on
the Connecting Families to Nature passport!
