My daughter and I stumbled upon this little freebie by accident one day. We really only have one Krispy Kreme location here in town and it's on E. Beltline just in front of the Centerpointe mall. If you ever happened to drive by and see their Hot Donuts sign lit up that means you can go in and get a FREE donut! It's usually first thing in the morning when they open and around 4-8 at night. We've stopped several times and just got the one freebie. They're delicious for my mouth and pocket book!

Several months ago, well before you posted this, my husband and I stopped by that location and were told that they don't give out free donuts anymore. This same location only had two varieties of donuts available for purchase, while all the others in the case were doomed to just sit around and let people look at them and wonder why they couldn't buy them.
More recently, we noticed a "Now Open" sign and decorations on the building's exterior. I thought it could mean that it was now under new ownership. From what you said, it sounds like I was right, and the new owner honors the franchise's custom of giving out a hot fresh donut. Thanks for the info!
