Three events coming up soon to put on the calendar. The first is great for the family. The GR Jaycees are having their Santa Parade This Saturday downtown on Monroe Ave. starting at 10am. But be sure to dress the kids for cold weather and bring the blankets. Maybe even pack some hot chocolate in a thermos or insulated travel coffee cup. There's also a Biggby coffee shop right on the corner of Monroe and Pearl.
The second event is one I've never seen happen before. It's a community Thanksgiving feast/potluck being held at the Delta Plex on the 23rd (Sunday) from 5-6pm. It's running a lot like a potluck but apparently you don't have to share your food if you don't want to. The hosts are hoping to bring the community together so we can meet one another and eat a meal together in the spirit of Thanksgiving.
The last event is a great concert that's free at the intersection. The show starts at 7pm on the 25th but doors open at 5:30pm. Bands include Fled Five, Bless you boys, Outer vibe, Absinthe and a special mystery guest. This show is called the Bootleg Bash. You must be 18 or older to enter.
A family event, community get to know ya event and a rock out of your socks event. Not a bad looking week for a tightwad. Life is always interesting when you're frugal.
